Treatment inpatient is good, councilors really care. IOP could be better

Valley General is a great treatment facility...kinda feels like a fun stay at grandmas house. I attended in June 2012 and June 2014. The facility has awesome Counselors and caring staff (majority in recovery themselves). They also have each week planned out perfectly which I loved because not only is their curriculum is fun and interesting it makes time fly, it would be rare to have a day feel like its dragging on during your stay. Also you dont feel rushed from group to group or class to class then to a activity. Valley General is unlike other treatment centers that make your days feel repetative which can be draining and boring.They give you opportunity for personal time, gives you snack times multiple times during the day, free time to do treatment homework, visit with friends, take a nap, or you can even get the privlage of listening to your ipod music device or get to watch some sports or music videos on the tv upstairs when you get to level 2. Each day of the week planned out with atleast 1 group a day and a fun activity like volleyball, baskeyball, softball, a nature walk, art therapy, music class, or excersize class, etc. Variety is good in treatment especially for a person coming off of drugs or alcohol. There is also a 1 on 1 counseling session a week, 2 snack times a day, and I believe 3 smoke breaks a day for us nicotine lovers. The food is good, the cook is a sweetheart! Another thing I enjoyed while I was there was always having access to cafinated coffee in the morning, that I was always able to find the time to shower at some point during the day, and that snacks were offered at night time. Im suprised there is no reviews but i went here in like 2010 when it was valley general, and it was one of the best treatment centers ive ever been to. I messed up once when i got out, but i got 6 years clean and i owe it to the friends i made while I was here and the program. I loved it and will never forget it.
